Difficult Teachings

Why are your teachings so difficult to understand? God, I cannot say that your teachings are simple and easy.

Of course, they are simple and easy to understand but the easiest things are the most difficult to know.

You always talk in riddles and never straight to the point.

Let me tell you why I have to do that. Let us check my first statement here. I said my teachings are simple and easy to understand and you now don’t believe in that!

But you haven’t said anything at all for me to say it is easy to know.

Sure. The reason why human beings cannot understand what I say is because they are not focused.

Of course, most of us are focused and have enough brains to know whatever you are saying.

The other reason is their immaturity.

What do you mean by immaturity? I think I am mature enough and yet I won’t understand most of what you teach.

Ok. Let me ask you a question then to clear up the doubt. When your five year old asks where did he come from, what do you answer?

I tell him that he was born to both of us.

But can you talk about sex and child birth? Can you tell him how he happened to come about in your wife’s womb?

That I cannot tell him since he is a child and immature. Once he grows up he will know all that.

Exactly. The reason why you cannot understand the truth about me is that alone. You should have spiritual maturity to know what I speak.

So that means I have to wait till I get spiritual maturity and only then will I understand how this world is only 6-7000 years old. Why Adam and Eve did what they did and how Moses brought those tablets down from the mountain!

Yes. Something like that. The intricate details about all these stories can never be understood by normal human beings.

So you make it difficult so that they can never understand. How silly? You should have made it easier for us humans.

You should learn it from experts then. They are the Masters who teach spiritual and then alone will you understand the truth.

Can you give me one example for my understanding? Can you make it simple and straight forward.

Ok. When you read about the creation being only a few thousand years old, it simply means that man grew into knowing about my creation only that many years ago.

Now you confuse me more. You think you made it simple for me? It’s the most complicated thing for me.

Let’s see then from your little knowledge. When was America discovered?

Christopher Columbus discovered it in 1492.

Great. So before he discovered where was America? It was always there but you give credit to him for that. Likewise my creation existed before that epoch too but wasn’t discovered. My story starts from the moment Adam got up. Just like your Columbus did in 1492.

So then why do they say in the holy book that you made this just a few thousand years ago?

Can you not understand that? If a frog hasn’t been outside the well, how can he know there is another world outside there? But when he comes to know, then he thinks it started the day he got out.

Why is this so difficult to understand? My logic doesn’t work and I cannot get convinced about it. I think I will let it be.

You are right in doing that. It’s like the difficulty faced by a born blind man who cannot say what color red or blue looks like.

I think I understand now. Till I do not have that knowledge I won’t know anything. Right? But then how do these sages know?

That’s another problem you have to sort out. Simply put, how would you describe how a pawpaw tastes like to someone who doesn’t know what it is?
