“When Faith and Hope are gone the Time becomes Punishment.”

The punishment is the imposition of a penalty as retribution for an offence committed. Although it sounds negative we all humans don’t want to go through it, but all of us have been punished for something or the other in our lives.

However, to me, punishment is the most beautiful learning to accept and fulfilling it without feeling hurt or low self-esteem. An incredible realisation dawned after I took a punishment given by my preceptor for not being able to understand a lesson.

It is my nature not to accept be in that situation in the first place. Well! My preceptor asked me to study a subject until I get the correct answer and only then I was allowed to move to my next task. For the first time, I obeyed him and did what was asked without questioning.

I continued to study, and when my preceptor asked me the question, I gave him the answer which he was pleased and further enhanced my knowledge about that subject with a deep dive. The entire experience was priceless, and I realised how the “Punishment” is given only to make you learn and bring out the best in you.

Punishment doesn’t mean that you are good only for fear of being punished and for the hope of reward.
