Thank you, Krsna for casting such a broad net, that I might rise with You, free from the weight of this material world.
As I searched the Internet for answers, I came to hear the KrsnaKnows podcasts. Krsna’s Satsang podcasts conveyed the unfettered truth, full of sincerity, patience and Godly conviction. His style was full of candor and blunt honesty. The Preceptor held my attention for hours on end. I listened over and over as He dutifully executed His mandate.
Shortly thereafter, I saw KrsnaKnows’ YouTube recordings of the Bhagavad Gita Satsangs and those of the Srimad Bhagavatam too. Wow! I have to admit that since the podcasts had no visual component, the voice I knew (in my mind’s eye), had a very different body attached to it. I’m blushing now, but you know, He is all-attractive.
A few months had passed with me tuned in almost daily. When the Shri Guru Charitra readings were posted I was overcome with Love as I listened. It was about this time that I posed a question to the Universe, “is Krsna my Guru?” The answer came that night, as I slept. I saw Krsna at a busy train station. There was no exchange of words, He saw me and I saw Him. That was all I needed.
It has been my great privilege to become familiar with Krsna’s students, as they were also a part of the recordings. Through the distance of space and time, I was blessed to be a witness of their evolution at His feet. My most heartfelt thanks are given to each of them. Their inquiries were mine as well.
When Guru Purnima arrived on July 9, 2017, I watched the online presentation and set a reminder for myself to watch in 2018. I began to frequent the KrsnaKnows website and I purchased His book, “The Flute of Truth” through Amazon. Unknown to anyone else, and not understood by me, I was fully ensconced in a “KrsnaKnows” existence. I was now watching the Live presentation of Saturday and Sunday Satsangs.
Language has not been an impediment to my learning, I may not easily recognize the characters’ names but the gist of the stories stay with me. The earlier online episodes contained a lot more Hindi and local language references than they do now. For the most part, Guruji speaks English. Because He is so animated and expressive, meanings are sometimes conveyed base on contexts and cadence, as well as the spoken word.
Krsna’s teachings are like waves that roll over me, just leaving some dampness behind. My learning is only hindered by the limitation of my intellect to absorb and process the information. He must repeat the same theme over and again citing numerous examples until alas, my brain is imbued with only a drop of the knowledge He so patiently disclosed.
Krsna’s teachings are Universal. He does not preach religion, he bestows the experiential knowledge of Sanatana Dharma. Whether your God has a form or no form, whether you call your God by a name or no name, whether you have a religion or not, Krsna’s expositions are interspersed with current day examples drawn from His vast material world knowledge and spiritual perfection.
Like a stern and caring Father or Mother, he repeatedly implores us not to be idiots (lol). He only pushes us to “be your good self, be compassionate, be loving, and be kind.”
