When two people are in love they have eyes only for each other. Any other person coming in their field of vision is a disturbance. Be it two lovers, parent/child, etc. Even when a devotee who loves God finds another devotee within his vicinity creates discomfort within him! To be a true devotee means to have eyes for God alone and see Him in everything and everyone. That way you will love all.
