You notice how some people want to talk about every little thing that happens in their life and put it up on social media. There are others who want to hide everything that they can from the public glare and stay cocooned.

In human psychology, they say it is better to talk about your problems and lessen the burden on yourself. There are professionals who help you with your extreme conditions to get over by advice, medication or by taking a long holiday. Then what about those garrulous people who never seem to give up talking or publicising every little thing that they do? Motormouth is the name of such people who never have a stop button. There are these extremes and both are destructive in nature.

In the spiritual world, we advise silence as the greatest tool. Mind talk is very destructive and makes one fall down on spiritual weal. Meditation is the balm for every individual in spiritual. The first thing we want the disciple to learn is the silence of mind and body.

Spiritual doesn’t say that one is not supposed to talk at all, but useless and worthless words are to be avoided at all costs. Only words which do matter and which can take a constructive approach should be spoken. Words which constitute Nishkaam karma or that which don’t lead you to karma are desired. To avoid making useless talk by the mind, spiritualists give you the mantra. Mantras are simple words which can breach the spirit realm and make your mind and body pure. They put you on the perfect wavelength of the divine and not allow lose talk of the mind. Japa is the term used when you keep on repeating the same mantra over and over again.

Karma happens when one does any kind of action. Even words are spoken or thought out constitute action so it is important not to let words out of your mouth or mind uselessly. Any karma performed leads one to results and resultant actions. This keeps us in the loop of life and death cycles. Hence it is better to shut both the mouth and the mind.

First, find a Guru who can give you a bijmantra or seed mantra to take up the japa. Calm your mind down and don’t get into the path of repetitive life cycles. Japa of Mantra is also one of the prescribed paths of liberation. Remember Valmiki Rishi kept on the Ram japa till liberation. So Control your mouth and mind talk and reach liberation.
